Express Entry is the selection system for Canadian immigration that was launched in January 2015, designed to select skilled workers for immigration to Canada. It is a completely electronic process involving the Federal Government, Provincial and Territorial Governments and Canadian employers. An immigration program to help those who are eligible through a more expedient immigration process towards Canadian permanent residence.
With the past and current trend, in order to receive Invitation to Apply the candidate must have a minimum of 450 or more CRS points, many foreign nationals are realizing that if they want any chance of getting drawn out of the Express Entry pool, they are going to need a job offer from a Canadian employer to support their Express Entry application.
A qualifying job offer definitely improves a candidate’s potential of receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA) very fast. Securing a job offer from an employer in Canada can be beneficial when planning to immigrate to Canada under Federal Skilled Workers Program, Express Entry System , the applicants can earn a total of 50 points for a valid job offer in a NOC 0, A or B occupations and 200 points for a valid job offer in a NOC 00 occupations.
To improve scores and increase chances of being drawn from the Express Entry pool, the applicants may want to:
- reach out to employers in Canada and seek a valid job offer,
- consider employment opportunities in the provinces and territories to be nominated for the Provincial Nominee Program,
- improve language scores,
- get a higher level of education, or
- gain more work experience.
The Express Entry pool will include candidates who are each eligible for at least one of Canada’s economic immigration programs, namely the Federal Skilled Workers Program, the Federal Skilled Trades Program, and the Canadian Experience Class, all eligible candidates will enter the same pool. There will be no separate pools for specific programs.
Candidates will be assessed against others within the pool, and be ranked based on criteria that are known to contribute to a newcomer’s economic success once in Canada. Only the highest-ranked candidates, and those with valid job offers or provincial/territorial nominations will be invited to apply for permanent residence.
Those applicants with valid job offer or a Provincial/Territorial Nomination Certificate will quickly be offered an invitation to apply (ITA) for permanent residence (PR); Express Entry candidates will benefit from processing times of six months or less to candidates for Federal Skilled Workers Program, under Express Entry System the applicants can earn a total of 50 points for a valid job offer in a NOC 0, A or B occupations and 200 points for a valid job offer in a NOC 00 occupations, while the candidates with provincial or territorial nomination still earn 600 points(CRS).
